Quick answer
Social media marketing in India costs ₹8,000–₹25,000 a month with a freelancer, ₹15,000–₹1,00,000 a month with a small or mid-size agency, and ₹1,00,000–₹3,00,000+ a month with a premium full-service agency, plus 18% GST. Ad spend is separate: most small businesses start with ₹10,000–₹30,000 a month on Meta ads. Price depends on platforms, posts and reels per month, video production, ads management and reporting.

India Meta benchmarks, 2026Social Media Marketing Cost in India at a Glance (2026)
Social media marketing (SMM) is not one product. A ₹6,000 plan that posts templated graphics and a ₹2 lakh programme that runs reels, influencer campaigns and paid ads are both sold as “social media marketing”. The table below shows what each type of provider typically charges per month in India, and what that money realistically buys.
| Who does the work | Typical monthly fee (excl. GST) | What you usually get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freelancer | ₹8,000 – ₹25,000 | 1–2 platforms, 10–16 posts, basic design and captions; strategy and ads often limited | Solo founders, local shops testing social |
| Small agency | ₹15,000 – ₹40,000 | Content calendar, 12–20 posts incl. a few reels, replies, monthly report | Small businesses, clinics, cafés, coaching centres |
| Mid-size agency | ₹40,000 – ₹1,00,000 | 2–3 platforms, strategy, 20–30 pieces incl. reels, community management, ads management | Growing SMEs, D2C brands, real estate, B2B |
| Premium / full-service agency | ₹1,00,000 – ₹3,00,000+ | Shoots, video-first content, full-funnel paid social, influencer coordination, dashboards | Funded startups, multi-city brands |
| In-house team | ₹45,000 – ₹2,00,000+ (salaries + tools) | Dedicated people, fast turnaround; you manage hiring, tools and quality | Brands posting daily across 4+ platforms |
The 5 parts of your total social media bill
When you compare quotes, compare the total monthly bill, not just the agency fee. Your real cost has five parts:
1. Management fee
What you pay the freelancer or agency for strategy, content planning, design, copy, posting, replies and reporting. This is the number most price lists show.
2. Content production
Photo and video shoots, models, locations, props, UGC creators and motion graphics. Some packages include light production; many charge it separately.
3. Ad spend (media budget)
The money paid directly to Meta, LinkedIn, Google/YouTube or X to show your ads. It is almost never included in the management fee.
4. Tools and subscriptions
Scheduling, design and analytics tools, stock assets, music licences and verification subscriptions. Agencies usually absorb these; with freelancers or in-house teams you often pay them.
5. Taxes
18% GST on the agency invoice and 18% GST on Meta or Google ad invoices. GST-registered businesses can usually claim this back as input tax credit (ITC). More on this in the GST section.

Social Media Rate Card India 2026: Cost per Post, Reel and Platform
If you want to build your own package or check whether a quote is fair, price it item by item. These are typical 2026 rates charged by Indian freelancers (lower end) and agencies (upper end).
| Item | Typical price (excl. GST) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Static post (design + caption) | ₹300 – ₹2,500 per post | Template-based posts sit at the bottom; original brand design at the top |
| Carousel (5–10 slides) | ₹800 – ₹4,000 | Educational carousels need research and copywriting |
| Reel edit (your footage) | ₹1,500 – ₹6,000 per reel | Includes cuts, captions, music from the platform library |
| Reel with script + shoot | ₹4,000 – ₹25,000 per reel | Depends on talent, location, crew and turnaround |
| Photo / video shoot day | ₹8,000 – ₹50,000 per day | Metro studios and models cost more |
| Motion graphic / animated post | ₹3,000 – ₹15,000 | Useful for B2B, SaaS and explainers |
| UGC creator video | ₹2,000 – ₹25,000 per video | Plus product cost; usage rights should be in writing |
| Community management | ₹4,000 – ₹20,000 per month | Varies by message volume and response-time commitment |
| Strategy + monthly report | ₹3,000 – ₹15,000 per month | Often bundled; ask for it explicitly |
| Profile setup / audit (one-time) | ₹3,000 – ₹15,000 | Bio, highlights, links, Meta Business Suite, pixel checks |
| Ad campaign setup (one-time) | ₹5,000 – ₹25,000 | Pixel/Conversions API, audiences, lead forms, first creatives |
Platform-wise social media management cost
Each platform needs its own format, tone and posting rhythm, so each one you add raises the fee. Typical monthly management cost for one platform, excluding ad spend:
| Platform | Monthly management (one platform) | Works best for | What drives cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹8,000 – ₹40,000 | D2C, fashion, food, beauty, real estate, education | Reels volume and production quality | |
| ₹5,000 – ₹20,000 | Local services, 30+ audiences, groups, lead ads | Usually bundled with Instagram at a small add-on | |
| LinkedIn (company + founder) | ₹15,000 – ₹60,000 | B2B, SaaS, manufacturing, recruitment, consulting | Thought-leadership writing and founder ghostwriting |
| YouTube (long + Shorts) | ₹20,000 – ₹1,00,000+ | Education, real estate walkthroughs, reviews, how-tos | Scripting, shooting and editing time |
| X (Twitter) | ₹8,000 – ₹30,000 | Tech, finance, media, public-facing founders | Real-time monitoring and posting frequency |
| ₹6,000 – ₹20,000 | Home décor, weddings, fashion, recipes | Pin design volume | |
| WhatsApp Channel / Community | ₹5,000 – ₹20,000 | Retail, education, local brands with repeat buyers | Update frequency and templates |
Instagram + Facebook together
Because both run from Meta Business Suite, most agencies manage Facebook as a light add-on to Instagram (often ₹2,000–₹8,000 extra) by adapting the same creatives. Ask for this bundle rather than paying two full platform fees.
LinkedIn is priced on writing, not design
LinkedIn content that generates B2B leads depends on sharp, experience-led writing, often ghostwritten for a founder. Expect a higher fee per post and fewer posts. See our planned guide to LinkedIn marketing services for scope details.
Social Media Advertising Cost in India: Ad Spend, Not Fees
Your ad spend is paid to the platform, in rupees, through an auction. The agency fee manages it. Keep the two separate in every conversation and every invoice.
Meta (Facebook + Instagram) ads cost in India
India has some of the lowest Meta ad prices in the world, but costs rise sharply in festive season (Navratri to Diwali) and for competitive categories such as real estate, finance and education.
| Metric | Typical India range (2026) | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions), Instagram | ₹45 – ₹400 | Reels at the low end; Feed and narrow targeting at the high end |
| CPM, retargeting audiences | ₹250 – ₹800 | Small, warm audiences cost more per view but convert better |
| CPC (cost per link click) | ₹4 – ₹55 | Regional-language creatives in tier-2 cities often land at the low end |
| Cost per lead (lead forms / WhatsApp) | ₹150 – ₹2,000 | Real estate, finance and higher education sit at the upper end |
| Cost per 1,000 video views | ₹25 – ₹180 | Short, hook-first video is cheapest |
LinkedIn, YouTube and X ads cost
- LinkedIn ads: far costlier per click than Meta — DM360 estimate ₹80–₹400 per click for Indian B2B audiences — but reach decision-makers by job title and company. Plan at least ₹30,000–₹1,00,000 a month for a meaningful test.
- YouTube ads: sold mainly on views; skippable in-stream and Shorts ads often cost well under ₹1 per view in India (DM360 estimate). Good for awareness and remarketing.
- X ads: niche in India; worthwhile mainly for tech, fintech, media and event launches.
Minimum ad budget by goal
| Goal | Sensible starting ad spend / month | Test period |
|---|---|---|
| Local awareness (store, café, salon, clinic) | ₹5,000 – ₹15,000 | 30–45 days |
| Service leads (coaching, clinics, interiors, legal) | ₹15,000 – ₹50,000 | 60 days |
| D2C / e-commerce sales | ₹50,000 – ₹3,00,000 | 60–90 days with catalogue + retargeting |
| B2B leads on LinkedIn | ₹30,000 – ₹1,00,000 | 90 days |
| Real estate project launch | ₹1,00,000 – ₹5,00,000 | Per launch phase |
How agencies charge for ads management
Percentage of ad spend
10–20% of monthly spend, usually with a minimum fee (for example ₹7,500–₹15,000). Fair at scale; ask for a cap so fees don’t balloon as spend grows.
Flat monthly fee
A fixed fee regardless of spend within a band. Predictable and common for SMEs spending under ₹1 lakh a month.
Hybrid or performance-linked
A lower base fee plus a bonus tied to leads or revenue. Only works when tracking (pixel, Conversions API, CRM) is set up properly and both sides agree what counts as a lead.
Worked example: what one lead really costs
If your CPM is ₹150, click-through rate is 1.2% and 8% of visitors fill your form: cost per click = ₹150 ÷ 12 = ₹12.50; cost per lead = ₹12.50 ÷ 0.08 = ≈ ₹156. Double the CTR with better creative and your lead cost halves — which is why creative quality matters more than budget size.

GST on Social Media Marketing in India: Fees and Ad Spend
GST on agency and freelancer fees
Social media marketing and advertising services attract 18% GST in India. A GST-registered agency will add it to your invoice; a freelancer below the registration threshold may not. If your business is GST-registered and the service is for business use, you can usually claim this 18% back as input tax credit (ITC) — so the effective cost is the pre-GST fee.
GST on Meta and Google ad spend
- Meta ads for India-based ad accounts have been sold and invoiced in rupees by Facebook India Online Services since October 2018, with GST added whenever you are charged.
- Add your GSTIN in Meta Business Settings so the invoice carries your business name and number — this is what lets you claim ITC.
- If an ad platform bills you from a foreign entity with no GST on the invoice, you generally self-assess 18% IGST under reverse charge and claim it back as credit.
- The old 6% equalisation levy on online advertising was abolished from 1 April 2025, so it no longer adds to your cost.
Worked example: a typical monthly bill
| Line item | Amount | Claimable as ITC? |
|---|---|---|
| Agency fee (Growth package) | ₹30,000 | — |
| GST on fee @ 18% | ₹5,400 | Yes, if GST-registered |
| Meta ad spend | ₹20,000 | — |
| GST on ad spend @ 18% | ₹3,600 | Yes, if GSTIN is on the Meta invoice |
| Total cash out | ₹59,000 | |
| Net cost after ITC | ₹50,000 | Unregistered businesses bear the full ₹59,000 |

10 Factors That Decide Your Social Media Marketing Cost
Two businesses asking for “Instagram marketing” can receive quotes of ₹12,000 and ₹90,000 — and both can be fair. These ten factors explain the gap.
1. Number of platforms
Each platform adds planning, formatting, posting and reporting work. Start with the one or two where your buyers actually spend time.
2. Content volume
12 posts a month and 30 posts a month are very different workloads. More is not automatically better; consistency beats volume.
3. Format mix: statics vs reels vs long video
Reels and video cost 3–10× more to produce than static posts, but on Instagram they usually earn far more reach — and cheaper ad CPMs.
4. Production level
Editing your phone footage is cheap. Scripted shoots with talent, locations and lighting are not. Decide what quality your category really needs.
5. Strategy and research depth
Competitor analysis, audience personas, content pillars and a quarterly plan add cost upfront and save money on wasted posts later.
6. Community management and response time
Replying to comments and DMs within an hour, seven days a week, needs people on shift. A 24-hour business-day response is much cheaper.
7. Paid ads management
Audience building, creative testing, pixel and Conversions API setup, and daily optimisation are a separate skill — and a separate line item.
8. Languages
Bilingual or regional-language content (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali) adds writing and review time, typically 10–25% — and often lowers ad costs in tier-2 and tier-3 markets.
9. Industry and compliance
Healthcare, finance, real estate and education content needs claim checks and disclosures (for example RERA numbers on property ads, or the consumer-protection rules on coaching-centre advertising). That review time is priced in.
10. Team seniority, tools and reporting
A senior strategist with proper analytics costs more than a fresher with a scheduling app, and usually wastes far less of your ad budget.
Freelancer vs Agency vs In-House: The True Monthly Cost in India
| Freelancer | Agency | In-house team | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | ₹8,000 – ₹25,000 | ₹15,000 – ₹3,00,000+ | ₹45,000 – ₹2,00,000+ (salaries, tools, laptops) |
| Skills covered | Usually 1–2 (design or posting) | Strategy, design, video, copy, ads, analytics | Only the people you hire |
| Management effort for you | High | Low–medium | High (hiring, training, reviews) |
| Continuity risk | High if the person leaves | Low — team backup | Medium — notice periods |
| Speed / real-time response | Varies | Agreed SLA | Fastest |
| Best for | Tight budgets, simple needs | Most SMEs and growing brands | High-volume brands with daily output |
When a freelancer makes sense
You need posting and design for one platform, you can write the strategy yourself, and you are not running ads yet.
When an agency makes sense
You want strategy, content, community management and ads under one roof, measured on enquiries — for less than the cost of one mid-level hire.
When to build in-house
You post daily across four or more platforms, need instant real-time responses, or your product changes weekly. Many brands keep one in-house social media manager and outsource production and ads.
The hybrid model
An in-house coordinator who knows your business, plus an agency for strategy, shoots and paid ads. Often the most cost-efficient setup for brands spending ₹1 lakh+ a month.
Social Media Marketing Cost by City: Metro vs Tier-2
Where your agency sits still affects price, mainly through salaries and studio costs — but less than it used to. Strategy, design, editing and ads management are delivered online, so a business in Kochi can work with an agency in Hyderabad as easily as one next door.
| Agency location | Typical Growth-package fee | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru | ₹35,000 – ₹90,000 | Highest salaries and studio rents; premium brand clients |
| Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad | ₹25,000 – ₹60,000 | Strong talent pool with lower overheads than the top three metros |
| Tier-2 cities (Jaipur, Indore, Coimbatore, Kochi, Vizag, Lucknow) | ₹15,000 – ₹40,000 | Lower costs; quality varies more — check portfolios carefully |
Social Media Marketing Budget by Industry in India
| Industry | Key platforms | Management fee / month | Starting ad spend / month | KPI to judge on |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Restaurants, cafés, cloud kitchens | Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp | ₹12,000 – ₹40,000 | ₹5,000 – ₹20,000 | Footfall, orders, reservations |
| Clinics and hospitals | Instagram, Facebook, YouTube | ₹20,000 – ₹80,000 | ₹15,000 – ₹75,000 | Appointment requests, cost per booking |
| Real estate | Instagram, Facebook, YouTube | ₹30,000 – ₹1,50,000 | ₹50,000 – ₹5,00,000 | Qualified leads, site visits |
| Education and coaching | Instagram, YouTube, Facebook | ₹20,000 – ₹1,00,000 | ₹25,000 – ₹2,00,000 | Counselling leads, admissions |
| D2C and e-commerce | Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts | ₹30,000 – ₹2,00,000 | ₹50,000 – ₹5,00,000+ | ROAS, cost per purchase |
| B2B, SaaS, manufacturing | LinkedIn, YouTube | ₹30,000 – ₹1,50,000 | ₹30,000 – ₹1,50,000 | SQLs, demo bookings, pipeline |
| Salons, gyms, local services | Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile | ₹10,000 – ₹35,000 | ₹5,000 – ₹20,000 | Calls, WhatsApp chats, bookings |
| Jewellery and fashion | Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube | ₹30,000 – ₹1,50,000 | ₹30,000 – ₹3,00,000 | Store visits, online sales |
| Hotels and travel | Instagram, YouTube, Facebook | ₹25,000 – ₹1,00,000 | ₹20,000 – ₹1,50,000 | Direct bookings vs OTA |
Industry deep-dives: digital marketing for healthcare and digital marketing for real estate agents.
Hidden Costs Most Social Media Quotes Leave Out
- Ad spend and its 18% GST — rarely inside the package price.
- Shoots, models, locations and props — “reels included” may mean editing your footage only.
- Stock images, fonts and commercial music for ads (platform music libraries are not always licensed for ads).
- Influencer and UGC creator fees, plus product samples and usage rights.
- Festive and campaign creatives over and above the monthly quota (Diwali, Sankranti, Eid, Onam, sale days).
- Extra revision rounds beyond the two usually included.
- Setup and onboarding fees for audits, pixel and Conversions API work.
- Tools such as paid scheduling, design or social-listening subscriptions, and Meta Verified if you choose it.
- Translation for regional-language posts.
- Exit costs: lock-in penalties or losing access to pages and ad accounts.
Contract terms to check before you sign
Lock-in period
Three months is reasonable for social to show results. Be cautious of 12-month lock-ins with heavy exit fees.
Account and asset ownership
Your Instagram, Facebook page, Business Manager, ad account and pixel should be owned by your business, with the agency added as a partner. Final design files should be yours too.
Deliverables and revisions
The contract should list numbers: posts, reels, platforms, revisions, response times and reporting dates.
Reporting and data access
You should have direct access to Meta Business Suite insights and Ads Manager, not only PDF screenshots.
Exit clause
Look for 30-day notice and a clean hand-over of files, logins and ad-account access.
Cheap vs Professional Social Media Marketing: What ₹5,000 vs ₹50,000 Buys
| ₹3,000 – ₹8,000 / month | ₹30,000 – ₹60,000 / month | |
|---|---|---|
| Content | Reused templates with your logo | Original brand design, reels built around hooks |
| Strategy | None | Personas, content pillars, monthly plan |
| Community | No replies | Comments and DMs handled |
| Ads | “Boost post” button | Structured campaigns, testing, retargeting |
| Reporting | Screenshot of likes | Reach → enquiries → cost per lead |
| Likely outcome | Activity, not growth | Measurable enquiries within 60–120 days |
The cheapest plan can be the most expensive: six months at ₹5,000 is ₹30,000 spent with nothing measurable to show — and a false conclusion that “social media doesn’t work for us”.
Red flags in a social media quote
- Guaranteed followers, likes or “viral” results — often bought or bot followers that damage reach.
- No access for you to your own ad account or Business Suite.
- Prices that don’t list deliverables in numbers.
- Influencer posts without #ad / paid-partnership disclosure — India’s ASCI influencer guidelines and the Consumer Affairs endorsement guidelines require clear disclosure.
- Pressure to sign a long lock-in before any strategy is shared.
- Reports with only vanity metrics and no link to enquiries or sales.
Is Social Media Marketing Worth the Cost? ROI and Timelines in India
Yes — when it is judged on business outcomes rather than likes. Social media ads are one of the top ways people discover new brands, especially 16–34-year-olds, and India’s Meta inventory is among the cheapest in the world. But results compound; they don’t arrive in week one.
A realistic timeline
| Period | What should happen | Metrics to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Month 1 | Audit, strategy, profile fixes, first content and ad tests | Reach, profile visits, cost per click |
| Months 2–3 | Winning formats emerge; retargeting audiences build | Saves, shares, WhatsApp clicks, first leads |
| Months 4–6 | Steady enquiries; ads scale on proven creatives | Cost per lead, lead-to-sale rate |
| Months 6–12 | Social becomes a dependable enquiry and trust channel | ROAS, revenue influenced, repeat customers |
Simple ROI formula
Example: a coaching institute spends ₹60,000 a month (₹30,000 fee + ₹30,000 ads). It gets 180 leads at ₹167 each, converts 9% into ₹25,000 enrolments = 16 students = ₹4,00,000 revenue. ROI = (4,00,000 − 60,000) ÷ 60,000 = 567%. Replace these figures with your own conversion rate and ticket size.
KPIs that matter more than followers
- Cost per lead (CPL) and cost per qualified lead
- Lead-to-customer conversion rate
- Return on ad spend (ROAS) for e-commerce
- WhatsApp clicks, calls and direction requests
- Saves and shares (signals content that people value)
How to Budget for Social Media Marketing in India: 7 Steps
Step 1: Set one goal and a target cost per enquiry
Choose a single primary goal (leads, sales, footfall or awareness) and work out what one enquiry is worth to you. That number caps your cost per lead.
Step 2: Pick one or two platforms
Go where your buyers are: Instagram and Facebook for most consumer businesses, LinkedIn for B2B, YouTube for high-consideration purchases.
Step 3: Decide content volume and format
12–16 pieces a month with at least 30% reels is a solid starting point for most small businesses.
Step 4: Set a test ad budget
Budget ₹10,000–₹30,000 a month for 60 days to learn what works before scaling.
Step 5: Add GST and production to see the real total
Add 18% GST on the fee and on ad spend, plus any shoots, so the finance team sees the true monthly number.
Step 6: Get three itemised quotes on the same brief
Send the same written brief to three providers and compare deliverables line by line, not headline prices.
Step 7: Review at day 90 and reallocate
Keep what produces enquiries at an acceptable cost, cut what doesn’t, and scale the winners.
Social Media and AI Search: Why Your Profiles Now Affect AI Answers
When people ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews “which agency” or “which clinic near me”, these tools draw on consistent public signals: your website, Google Business Profile, reviews and active social profiles. Keeping your name, services, prices and contact details consistent across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and your site helps AI systems describe your business accurately. It is one more reason to maintain profiles properly rather than letting them go stale — and something a good social media partner should include at no extra cost.

Social Media Marketing Cost: Myths vs Facts
| Myth | Fact |
|---|---|
| “Social media is free, so marketing on it should be cheap.” | Posting is free; strategy, creative, video, community management and ads are skilled work. |
| “The package price includes ads.” | Almost never. Ad spend is paid to the platform, separately, with 18% GST. |
| “More posts = more results.” | Consistency and quality beat volume; 12 strong pieces often outperform 30 weak ones. |
| “Boosting posts is the same as running ads.” | Boosting skips objectives, audiences and testing; structured Ads Manager campaigns usually cost less per lead. |
| “A good agency can guarantee followers.” | Legitimate agencies don't guarantee followers or virality; they commit to deliverables and track enquiries. |
| “Metro agencies are always better.” | Quality depends on the team and process, not the city. Most work is delivered online. |
Frequently Asked Questions About Social Media Marketing Cost in India
How much does social media marketing cost in India per month?
Social media marketing in India typically costs ₹8,000–₹25,000 a month with a freelancer, ₹15,000–₹1,00,000 a month with a small or mid-size agency, and ₹1,00,000–₹3,00,000+ with a premium full-service agency. Add 18% GST, and budget ad spend separately.
What is the minimum budget for social media marketing in India?
A realistic minimum for professional work is about ₹10,000–₹15,000 a month for one or two platforms, plus ₹5,000–₹15,000 in ad spend if you want local reach. Below roughly ₹8,000 a month, original strategy and content are hard to deliver.
How much does an agency charge for Instagram management in India?
Instagram-only management usually costs ₹8,000–₹40,000 a month depending on the number of reels, production quality and community management. Adding Facebook to the same plan typically costs only ₹2,000–₹8,000 extra.
How much do freelancers charge for social media management in India?
Freelancers commonly charge ₹8,000–₹25,000 a month, or ₹300–₹2,500 per post and ₹1,500–₹6,000 per reel edit. They are cost-effective for simple needs but rarely cover strategy, video and ads together.
Is ad spend included in social media marketing packages?
Usually not. The package fee pays for strategy, content and management. Ad spend is paid directly to Meta, LinkedIn or Google in your own ad account, with 18% GST. Always ask whether a quote is management-only.
Is GST charged on social media marketing services in India?
Yes. Social media marketing and advertising services attract 18% GST. Meta also adds GST to ad invoices for Indian accounts. GST-registered businesses can usually claim both as input tax credit if their GSTIN is on the invoices.
How much should a small business spend on Facebook and Instagram ads in India?
Start with ₹10,000–₹30,000 a month for 60 days, track cost per enquiry, then scale what works. In India, Instagram CPMs typically range from about ₹45 to ₹400, with Reels placements the cheapest.
What is included in a social media marketing package?
A good package includes a strategy, a monthly content calendar, original designs and reels, captions and hashtags, scheduled posting, community management, optional ads management and a monthly report tied to enquiries or sales.
How much does one social media post or reel cost in India?
A static post typically costs ₹300–₹2,500, a carousel ₹800–₹4,000, a reel edited from your footage ₹1,500–₹6,000, and a scripted reel with a shoot ₹4,000–₹25,000.
Why do social media marketing prices vary so much in India?
Prices vary with the number of platforms, content volume, the share of reels and video, production level, ads management, languages, industry compliance and team seniority. A one-platform organic plan and a multi-platform ads programme are very different amounts of work.
Is social media marketing worth the cost for small businesses?
It is worth it when it is judged on enquiries and sales rather than likes. Most small businesses see steady enquiries within three to six months when content, ads and follow-up on WhatsApp or calls work together.
How long does social media marketing take to show results?
Paid ads can produce leads within days, but organic growth and stable cost per lead usually take 60–120 days. Plan a three-month test with clear KPIs before judging.
Can a social media agency guarantee followers or leads?
No legitimate agency guarantees followers, likes or virality. They can commit to deliverables, response times and tracking, and to optimising towards a target cost per lead.
Should I hire a social media executive or an agency?
An agency costing ₹25,000–₹60,000 a month gives you a strategist, designer, editor and ads specialist for less than most single mid-level hires. Hire in-house when you post daily on four or more platforms or need instant real-time responses.
Is social media marketing cheaper in Hyderabad or tier-2 cities than in Mumbai or Bengaluru?
Usually yes. For similar scope, Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru agencies tend to charge the most, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai sit in the middle, and tier-2 cities are cheapest. Since the work is delivered online, you can hire from any city.
What should I check in a social media marketing contract?
Check the lock-in period, numbered deliverables, revision rounds, response times, reporting access, exit notice, and that your business owns the pages, ad accounts, pixel and design files.
